Need Advice

I just found a 66 coupe, 289, 4 speed for 4500.00. Body is decent, no rust. Runs fairly strong (as far as I could tell). I also found a 70 coupe auto trans, less than 60k miles on the 6 cylinder for 4000.00. I've been looking for a classic mustang for years, and these are the best two I've found. I just want advice on if that sounds like a good deal to you. If I did buy either one, how complicated would a swap to a 4.6 be for either of them?

I did a Quik Look around your area, Looks Like what you found is a good Deal.
Just pick out witch body you Like the best.

Both Can have the 4.6 with the Same work.
Here is what we did.

You just have to change the front end, Remove the shock towers.
And use the stand alone Comp set up.

well nevermind I can't get the loan because I owe a cancellation fee on my utilities from the last house...except for the fact there's no cancellation fee...I called the utility department and yelled at them and they said it was just a mistake...but it would still take up to a few months to come off my credit...I don't have a few months, I was competing with someone else for them...game over, I lost...I tried every bank and loan company in the yellow pages...no deal...I called the utility department back and told them I'd pay them double what they said I owed if they'de speed up the process and they said they couldn't help me, so I told them to shove it up their ass...I'm so utterly depressed and disappointed...I've looked for 2 years for this...since my mom sold my dad's fastback and broke my heart...this is getting so stupid.

Go with a 289. Just my opinion, but to start off with, you're gonna wanna focus on the body. You're also gonna want a muscle car. Mustang bodies just don't go with inline 200 engine's.

I've got a 66 Convertible with a six cylinder, and wish now that I'd waited for an 8. When you look at what it's going to cost you to swap the engine out, and do all the extra work, (Trans, suspension, engine, breaks, driveshaft, ect) you're looking at quite a chunk of change. My guess is 8-15K, but I've never actually done it.

Also, one more note, use craigslist, or craigshelper to search your state. That's how I got my car.

Best of luck
