engine mounts

here's one that i cant figure out....my trans doesnt sit back far enough for it to go where the crossmember is..so i was told that the engine engine mounts are on the wrong side...could this make the engine sit up further in the engine bay????cause there is like no room between the engine fan and the rad.just wanted to know if its possible for the engine mounts to be on the wrong sides thanks

The mounts are marked L and R. You are going to have to raise the engine to swap them if they're in backwards, so you might as well do it to find out for sure, and change them if they are.
