My 65 mustang won't brake

Hello I have a 65 mustang with all drum brakes and recently installed a brake booster to give 60% in the back and 40% in the front in order to make it stop straight

well its been sitting for 2 months and i finally decide to drive it and im driving going down a little hill and i go to stop at the stop sign and it starts slowing down but is not stopping and im like holy shit! so i step on it and nothing happens and i had to make a quick right to avoid hitting a oncoming mini van

I got it back home because it will slow down just will not completley stop when braking

the parking brake works fine and the car is stuck in place now and i checked all the tires and the brake booster and their is no leaking fluid

last time my brakes where checked and serviced was 3/22/2008 which they told me i had 10,000 miles left on them and they fixed my adjusting cable which broke in the right rear drum

Can anyone tell me what went wrong I am completely clueless and really scared and thankful i didn't hurt anybody

Hi I was wondering if anyone could assist me with my issue. Or at least direct me to a site where I can get help with my issue.

why are you doing 60/40? most of the braking is done with your front brakes. that's probably why you didn't stop.

I might have the incorrect ratio. I probably do actually I think i switched it around. It used to jerk when you would apply the brakes and the brake booster fixed that.

well.. bleed the system and see what happens. brakes aren't too hard. there really isn't too many parts to them.

Also you might look check to see if the plunger from the boster is moving enough to make the master cylender stop. There usally is a adjustment on the end of the pluger to make it longer.

Ok I just checked the booster and there was not 1 drip of brake fluid in there. So it must have leaked out but not sure to where because brake fluid just doesn't dis spear and the only thing I have done to the car in the past 2 months was wash the thing then pull it back in the garage.

I filled it up with some brake fluid and pumped the pedal but I do believe I got air in the lines and will have to bleed them. The pedal only got a little tighter but I'm not sure if I should back the car out and take it around the neighborhood to see or just idle it or what? But first I need to find out exactly why the fluid leaked and from where. It is my understanding that brake fluid doesn't dissipate like oil does am I correct?

Just got under the car to take a look. Checked all the drums and found that the passenger side rear drum has a liquid all over it with a drop hanging there. The drop was green which kind of puzzled me. I have never seen green brake fluid before? But yea I guess that is the one that is leaking it so I'll have to take that wheel off tomorrow and check it out.

Not sure what could have caused this though maybe something happened when I had last driven it and over the time it sat it slowly leaked and developed into a problem...
