If you have sucky tires, you could have 2 smoking.

if you are using a 8" rear end and you plan to build no more than 350 horses.
I would just rebuild what you have unless you a free 8.8 rear end laying around.
This is one of many ways to fix your current rear end.

Good Luck

My 3:55 Gears are turn my motor over at 65 MPH @ 4000 RPMs

8.8 will not just bolt in. You would have to fix the mount from your 8" to the 8.8"

But anything can be done. "if you have the experience or Money to do it"

We put a total IRS from a 2003 Cobra into a 1967 Fastback.

Like I said Anything can be done.

so if i build up my 8 inch how much money i am i looking at about 1000 and what about going with a 9 inch is it worth the extra money might put a intake heads and carb on the stock motor but not much Else so a 8 inch with good parts should be just fine and where would be a good place to get the parts

If you are just running a 289/302 you dont need to go to a 9" Rear end.

A Posi is about $400, the rebuild kit is about $120.

I just put a Edelbrock RPM Perfomer intake.

600 CFM holly carb.

Get the parts a Jegs.com Great Price , Great Return policy
