According to my info,
9K30 = Oct 30, 1969

C90E-6015-C = 1969 302 engine

The "O" designation means Fairlane but it could have come in anything.

usually a "Z" but that isn't always the case. Just because it has a "fairlane" destination doesn't mean Ford wouldn't put it in something else, especially if the assembly plant was a multi-line location

so its possible that this engine came in a 69 mustang.
I took my other block to get it rebuilt which I think was a 72' 302 but they gave me this other one out of 69'. So which would you recommend I keep?

What year is your Mustang? What do you want it for? Was your other motor stock in your Mustang?

Ford would put what ever they had in their cars.

Do you need the matching #'d block for your car? If so, I'd go back to the machine shop, explain that to them and have them prep your old block. If not, go with it as the earlier blocks had a higher nickel content and were considered stronger blocks. What they did was instead of fixing your block now, they gave you one they already had done. Now they will repair that one and swap it with the next guy.

I have a 65' coupe. when I bought it about four years ago I was told it had a 289. But when we took the engine out to get it rebuilt I found out it was a 72' 302. so I took to the machine shop and they gave me a different block out of a 69' with 289 heads.

So, It sounds like you could of got the better end of the deal. Twist 2 Go knows his stuff about motors. I think I would stay with the block you got.

Want did the do to the heads. There is a lot of power to had in the heads. Don't go cheap there.

How much power do you want from your car and how much money do you want to spend? With stock spring you can't really put in a wild cam. The stock valves are to small and bigger ones need to be out in for more horses. The 289 has 2 kind of heads. There is the small chamber heads and the std ones. I like the small chambered ones.
