Rearend questions
I was wondering how do you tell if u have a 8 or a 9 inch rearend? I have a 289 with an automatic transmission if that is enough information to tell. Also I am wondering what would be a good ring and pinion gears to get. I want to be quick from stop light to stoplight and also be ok for daily driving. I have a c4 tranny without overdrive.

Ford rear ends
A 3:25 gear would be the low side. I use a 3:55 Gear 65 mph = 4000 RPM A 3:73 would be to high for a 1 to 1 trans

If I had 3.73 that would put me around 4500 rpm at 65 mph right??? That seems very high.
