Welcome Jason,

You looking for motor differences?

The motor was a 302, 4 bolt main. screw in freeze plugs with a Cleveland style 4V heads. The heads were not Cleveland head because the water passage are diffrent.

The hp rate was 290 hp same as the camero's 302, both were under rated.

The motor was made to wined up tight. it didnt even start coming to life till 4000 rpms.

most of them ran high gears 4.11's

Ford built 1,628 Boss 302s for '69, then came back with 7,013 for '70.

Hope this helps.

thank you that helps alot!
i have another one if you dont mind i just came across one the has been sitting in my dads passed away friends parents house for 20 years. him and my dad were building it together and it is about 75% built.
i also just got my first project car for my 18th bday a 70 fastback and im looking for the right engine that with work and money will be pretty quick (putting those rich kids to shame) and still fun to drive everyother day.
now should i go with the boss or should i just go find my self a nice 351 and put money into that?

i appreciate all your knowledge

Shoot, If you can I would go with my 427 Stroker.

What I like about it is that you can drive it normaly as daily driver.
And make it a 12 sec car on the drag Strip.
Add NOS to it and go into the 11's

$1000 will only help what motor you already have.

Sorry to say that $1000 will not buy a go getting motor.

What motor do you have now? and does it run?

i'm expecting to put about 5 into my motor, and that's doing all the work myself, other than the machining
