some forward progress, on project 69

so this weekend i took the mustang out of the garage and while it was out i spent a few hours working on the motor. first task was cleaning. Took some spray stuff and cleaned out the standing oil in the channels on the top, took out the lifters, cleaned them as well, (they're rollers

), finally found the socket for the crank and cycled the engine and cleaned some of the carbon off the pistons. flipped it over cleaned the crank. then i put one of the exhaust manifolds on, put the oil pump on, and put the oil pan on. Then looked at my rear end and discovered it is an 8.8. so all in all good times. this week i should replace the left head, with a same one and put the whole thing back together. engine should be fully assembled by the end of the week!

i'm so stoked!

update, got the valve lapping tool and lapping compund. so the head should be done tonight, engine mostly assembled by thursday.
