Shimmy in the rear.

I have a shimmy in the rear of my 1966 mustang. I do not know if it is coming from the rear end, or is suspension related. Both rear axles have been replaced using Moser Engineering's replacement axles. New wheels have been added (Edelbrock 454 style) and the car has been lowered approximately 2 inches, using a kit from NPD.

The wheels have been balanced, and alignement is not a problem....since I'm told you cannot align the rear.

Could my drive shaft be unbalanced? A new C4 Stage II Dominator Transmission was installed, could this have something to do with it? I only feel the chimmy over 50 mph, and it is definately coming from the back of the car.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Could be your driveshaft or a u-joint. Have a shop jack up the back end and run it and see where its going on

I would start with checking U-joint

Lug nuts could be loose. Something loose in the drum brakes. It could be lots of things. "Shimmy" is kinda hard to understand online.
