Rust and Classic Mustang


I dont have a Classic Mustang, but I would like to know if you protect your Mustang against Rust.

You could use POR-15. I don't use anything, my 67 has barley any rust on it at all.

Clean the whole car regularly, and make sure all seals and weatherstripping are intact. That's probably the easiest way to keep it from rusting.

I thought the drivers would do some kind of complete protection.

What we do is take them done to bare a unibody media blast them, then seal them with self ethcing epoxy primer and the paint them.

Por 15 just covers the crap up.

Mustang one, I have to tell you, that green car is one of my favorite mustangs EVER. It has exactly what I've always wanted my mustang to have, the shelby R apron, and the side scoops, with the scooped hood...And add a crazy bright "nobody else has it" paint scheme and it's just an awesome car.

I also love your 67 427 GT500, but that green one makes me salivate every time I see it. What is the power-plant in there?

Mustang1 yes thats what Im talking about the whole car, to be sure to keep such a great Car for years to come. I also know Audi gives there cars a kind of zink paint or somewhat to keep there cars rust free.

I use Blasting Specialties in Tulsa as well.....but not for cars.....just military and police assault weapons.

i have a 66 vert on the turntable now.best to get rid of the rust from the gitgo.coat with good leaching primer and good paint.that way you can drive it all you want to.
