I am so pissed right now over this! My wife still has a small amount of student loans due. For years she made small payments every month. Well, when I lost my job last June, we stopped paying to keep up on everything else. I know we should have kept paying but there were so many other things falling apart. Over the last few months, we neglected to pay them. Again, dont bother flaming because Im the first one to say we fucked up by not sending something. And I have no problem paying back what we used. I'm decent with respect to my credit.

But this is what makes me mad. They sent a garnishment letter to her work. Those fucking prick fucks! She works in payroll and part of her job is garnishments so if it goes through, she will be fired. She actually had to sign a waiver when she took the position that stated if she ever got garnished, she would be terminated.

With the 700 gaziilion dollars going in every direction to every greedy fuck in this country, why is the government trying to to this to us? They will use your and my money to bail out Citibank, the big 3, AIG tec... but they are going to ruin my family's life over a few thousand? Where is the fucking logic?

Our government has sank to its lowest levels with this shit. To make it worse, Florida is issuing a "freeze" on forclosures. WTF? I have busted my ass to make sure my house payment has been made! I should have skipped paying on the house and payed my student loan? The point is, Ive done the right things BUT not the specific right thing!

I am so freaking angry with this shit. I try so gad damn hard to keep things right around here.

I will call this shit faced "pioneer credit" which manages the student loans and work this out. There's no problem there. I'll stop the garnishment before it starts and get into a payment plan. But Im just so pissed that I'm not poor enough for this country and Im not fucking rich enough either to get the breaks.

Im stuck in the fucking middle....no mans land class I guess.

America is so ass backwards right now. Its taking every bone in my body to stay patriotic.

I'm not going to flame you for not paying those loans. I have been in that situation before, and when it comes down to having a house, food, electricity and running water, or paying a student loan...I'm sorry, but the student loan takes a backseat.

I'm sorry this shit is happening to you man. It really sucks. The government doesn't care about the little guy, and that's horseshit, because the majority of this nation is "the little guy". I agree wholeheartedly with you. Shit is ass backwards. If the founding fathers could see what this place has turned into, they would throw up on themselves. People don't get a voice, and the government doesn't look out for the best interest of the people anymore.

Thanks guys. NO WORRIES THOUGH. Im cool, I've already educated myself as to what can be done. I can stop garnishment right away by printing out the forms from the USGov website and then overnighting them in. They wont garnish because my wifes income is our sole source right now. Seriously, no worries. The point is that it just pisses me off that they would be so agressive in coming at me.

A garnishment is when a creditor ( Pioneer credit representing US Student Loans) go's straight to your place of work and makes your payroll department give them a portion (up to 15%) of your gross wage. Unless you have a "hardship" reason, they can and will enforce it. Basically, they buttfuck your paycheck for the cash you owe them.

A garnishment is a way for the plaintiff (loan company in this case) to collect money from the defendant (JA and family) through a third party (called the garnishee, spelling?). Usually this is done by taking a wage out of the defendant's salary/paycheck. This would make the garnishee the defendant's employer.

Its funny how expensive college has gotten. I have no clue how Im getting my kids through in a few years. We have a little saved in a program here in FL that locks credit hours in but its not even close to enough and its getting worse all the time. I just seen on the news how there's fewer and fewer kids graduating and its because of money.

I don't know what grade your kids are in, but do you know anything about bright futures? It's a great program. You have a certain GPA and SAT/ACT score, and you get 75% of your tuition payed for if you stay in a FL college. If you do at least 100 hours of community service, you get 100%
