toyota belt tensioners
anyone know how to work this thing without breakin it? i put quite a bit of force on it, but i dont want to break this thing.... do i just have to take the whole damn thing off???

nm looked at your second link, turn the 19mm bolt sitting above the pulley clockwise to compress the pulley

my dads 2000 4runner has a similar set up (by pure looks, try at your own risk) and it has a tensioner, and the pulley, and you have to loosen the tensioner, and loosen the pulley, and the pulley will move to the new position, put the new belts on, and tighten the tensioner, then tighten the pulley

i got it, thanks for your help guys
i just went out there and laced into it and i heard a "click" and it went down. so i guess it was just frozen, but i bet that "click" is a sign that i should get a new one soon
