Street Racing....

Supposedly did it last night. I'm not going to go into details, but was issued a criminal citation. The officer could have easily taken me to jail, had my vehicle towed, and I would have had to pay to be bailed/bonded (not sure of the difference, but either way not good) out. But being I have nothing else on my record, he said he'd do this for me. Cop didn't get the other guy, but indicated to me he has the license plate number and will go to the state attorney to get him. Mandatory court appearance. Looks like I'm going to have to get a lawyer. If convicted, lots of not-so-good consequences. There are/were some members that do this on a regular basis. DON'T DO IT.

Oh...and my computer has a virus now as well. It was a not so good evening last night.

What where you racing? How fast where you caught when he clocked you?

And what are the not so good consequences?

He didn't clock me. He was behind a little ways back. I was doing 40 when he got behind me and lit me up. Not so good consequences are license revoked for a year if convicted, community service, fines, points on my license, etc. My insurance is already high from the dickhead who totalled my tc in July.

Well im sure this can get thrown out in court if you get a good lawer. If he never clocked you. There is no proof on how fast you where going. And if you where only going 40 anyway then thats kinda bullshit. Anyway get a good lawer and I promise this will be thrown out wow 40 and he didnt clock you he has no proof at all man. You'd be suprised what a court needs for evvidence for conviction

Yeah, in PA, cops don't have to clock you now. They have a little sticker on their dash saying their speed on their odometer is allowed to be used to clock...bla bla. So basically they can follow you for no longer than 1/2 mile and pull you over for them simply matching your speed. BUT my buddy took it to court and won because he asked the cop to present papers on a speedometer calibration since he had the tires changed and he didn't have papers.

speed dont mean anything in a street race which IMHO is bs there is no law stating you cant accelerate to speed quickly, it shouldnt be a "race" until your 10 over just like speeding laws. I dont condone racing at all but Ill play around see who can get to 60 first but thats it

A speed contest can be against another car, or by your self. timed, or un timed, from 1mph up.

Actually you enter a speed contest if you just goose you car a little just to remind yourself how it feels.

the cop didn't flip his lights on until he was right behind me. I was turning onto my road to my house (it's off a main street). The cop knew and/or thinks I was going faster. I heard him talking to his back-up about it when I was sitting in my car pissed about the whole situation. So yeah...I'm cautiously optimistic. He doesn't have a speed, doesn't have any witnesses. So basically it's his word against mine. I wasn't even on it all the way!! (although I wasn't accelerating slowly).

I contemplated after I got home if I could have outran that cop. Answer...yes I could have...if he fllipped his lights on earlier while he was catching up to me (as I was slowing down). I woulda stayed on the gas, turned off the main road, woulda been priceless. But fleeing and evading is a felony, and I thought better of it.

they cant put limitations on how you accelerate your car essentially everyone is in a speed contest all the time a cop cant prove your flooring it. thats why its a bs charge and in no way should be able to stand unless you are driving recklessly (i.e. spinning tires going sideways) or above the speed limit and still accelerating

bad idea to outrun a cop. I have done it one time and it wasnt going fast. I chripped my tires at a car show cruise and the cop in the other lane flipped his lights on and wanted to get over. The cars behind me wouldnt let him in tho!!! And I turned down the first right turn back road and booked it. I heard him go down the main road past the road I turned on sirens blarring and I was parked at the baseball field with the car off I didnt even mean to chirp the tires so that would have been the shittest ticket ever but if I would have got caught for fleeing I would have had a felony wich would have been much much much worse.

Mind you that was a long time ago
