There was an assignment due yesterday (that i didn't know about) and obviously it didn't get turned in. Well I get online and start checking to see when some assignemnts are due (it's an online class) and it says that I missed the assignment yesterday for the Rough Draft of our final essay which in on poetical analysis.

I was like what the fuck is this shit... The site is supposed to give me TWO DAYS warning before ANY assignment is due. I never got that NOR did I get the message saying that I had an assignment to turn in. So now I get another zero out of ten for not turning this in.

I sent her an email saying it never allowed me to turn it in. I never saw the thing and I was on there yesterday morning so I should've been up there.


Basically I told herit was bullshit and if she doesn't hear me out I'll take it to the dean. This is the, hmm I dunno, 3rd time this has happened so I'm fucking fed up with it.

Just make sure the Dean is the right person to bring it up to. You may need to talk to the Department Head and see if you can get your issue resolved there.

The flipside of this, is what does your syllabus say? If it's on there, even if she didn't put it in the website, you're SOL. If it's not in the syllabus, you're golden.

Ø All late assignment submissions will suffer a ten-point grade deduction and will not be accepted at all later than one week past the deadline!

Ø Only one late essay submission is permissible per student!

Ø No essay will be accepted without its process having been completed (this means that I will not grade a final paper if you did not submit a rough draft on time!)

Ø If you fail to submit any ONE essay assignment, you will automatically fail the class (no zeroes given on essays!)







Thats the only thing is says in the syllabus. Dates were all TBA... I REFUSE to take a zero on a final essay which in turn would cause me to fail the class (see why I think she's doing it on purpose). I am not going to sit here and waste my time and my fucking money on a dumb bitch that thinks she can out smart me. It won;t happen and right now, she's gonna lose.

Dates are all TBA? That's totally unacceptable. Even if she doesn't know exactly when, she needs to put SOMETHING down, and then if there's a change to the syllabus notify you.

Well one week we got behind or some shit and she had to change EVERYTHING up. She said it was due the 8th on the lecture notes for this essay, BUT I couldn;t submit the assignment due to it not being AVAILABLE TO UPLOAD. The assignment was and still is unavailable.

and I know for a fact that they can turn certain people off liek that because I was talking to my computer teacher about it because I missed an assingment due to working, and he indivually set up another thing just for me.

I had the same problem with sociology, i kept missing bullshit assignments because the teacher just HAD to use this stupid online database bullshit. My teacher was a gay sexists fucker who hated men. I didnt try PIITB, i dont think it would have worked with him.

Yeah, Engineering is usually ENGN, if it's not listed as a Physics class.

Had to ask. At Embry-Riddle our Engineering classes were ENG-xxx and English classes were LIT-xxx; or something thereabouts.

My school is similar, they use ENGR as engineering and LIT english classes.

Im going to Robert Morris for Manufacturing Engineering. Its a smaller private school outside of Pittsburgh.

I transfered to Ohio State for Mechanical Engineering, hated it, now Im going back to RMU.

I'd suggest going back, engineers are in crazy demand right now.

You got that right. With a BA in Aerospace or Aeronautics (or Electrical Engineering), I would be earning 6 figures here at Boeing right now, easy. Cool part? Boeing is fully funding my schooling, less books. I'll take it.

I have a buddy that works for Boeing. You think Ford knows lean manufacturing? Boeing takes it to the extreme.

Best part about any Engineering degree, business will hire you in a second for non engineering jobs incase your ever out of work. I have three companies outside of Pittsburgh in contact with me right now about financial positions. They want to hire engineers because they like our analytical thinking approaches.
