Features

7.0" TFT LCD Touchscreen Color Display: The AVH-P6800DVD features a 7.0" TFT Active Matrix, 16:9 wide screen touchscreen display with an adjustable viewing angle. The resolution of the display is 1440 x 234 for a total of 336,960 pixels. The screen has an anti-glare, low reflection coating for better visibility. The touch panel allows you to control this unit or a connected component such as a CD or DVD changer or TV tuner. Menus appear on screen for making function choices, audio adjustments or setting up the system.

Display Angles: The display screen can be angled to any of five positions for best visibility.

Built-in 6-Disc DVD/CD Changer: The unit has a built-in 6-disc DVD/CD changer which will play DVD-Video, DVD-R, DVD-RW, Audio CD, CD-R, and CD-RW, plus MP3 and WMA files recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs.

MP3/WMA Playback: This unit can play back MP3 and WMA files recorded on CD-ROM, CD-R or CD-RW discs in ISO9660 Level 1 or 2, Romeo or Joliet formats. Compatible MP3 bit rates range from 8-320 kbps, with 128 kbps recommended. This unit can play WMA recordings with bit rates from 48 to 192 kbps, with bit rates in the higher portion of the range recommended. This unit is compatible with ID3 tags, and will display recorded folder/file names, track titles, artists names, album titles, recording bit rate and comments.

Satellite Ready: This unit has controls for an optional Pioneer XM or Sirius Satellite Radio tuner, such as the GEX-P920XM (130P920XM) or the SIR-PNR2 (130SIRPNR2). Up to 18 channels can be set in 3 preset bands. This unit will display detailed information on the currently tuned channel (channel name, song title and artist name) or the preset channel list on the left half of the screen, while the category and preset select keys are on the right side. The top portion of the screen contains the source name and icon, the preset band and number indicator, and the channel number. Note: Receiving XM or Sirius Satellite Radio programming also requires a compatible antenna and a subscription.

Video Adjustments: You can store numerous video settings for each source, including brightness, contrast, color and hue. You can also dim or brighten the overall picture using the dimmer function.

Wide Screen Modes: This unit allows you to select one of five methods of viewing a normal (4:3) picture on the 16:9 screen: Full, Just, Cinema, Zoom and Normal. Different settings can be memorized for each video source.

Supertuner IIID: This unit has a Supertuner IIID for superior AM/FM reception. You can store up to 6 station presets for each band (AM, FM1, FM2 and FM3). These presets are displayed in a list on the screen for selecting the station you want to listen to. The tuner's sensitivity is adjustable from 1-4 for FM and 1-2 for AM. The unit's Best Station Memory (BSM) lets you automatically store the 6 strongest stations on the selected band.

Easy EQ Curves: This model has "Super Bass", "Powerful", "Natural", "Vocal", "Custom", and "Flat" preset EQ curves. The "Custom" curve is one that you create and store in memory. A separate "Custom" curve can be memorized for each source.

3-Band Parametric Equalizer: This unit includes a 3-band parametric EQ with Selectable Q Factor. You may select a low (40, 80, 100 or 160Hz), mid (200, 500, 1k or 2kHz) and high frequency (3.15k, 8k, 10k or 12.5kHz) to boost or cut within a range of -12dB to +12dB. The Q factor (slope of the boost or cut) may be selected from one of the following four options: 2N (narrow), 1N, 1W and 2W (wide). Selecting a narrow (steep) Q factor results in frequencies around the center frequency to be affected less by the boost or cut than they are with a wide Q factor. This feature is useful for taming frequency response problems caused by the dimensions, materials and speaker locations of a vehicle.

Adjustable Loudness: You can select three different levels of loudness compensation:

Low: +3.5dB at 100Hz, +3.5dB at 10kHz
Middle: +10dB at 100Hz, +6.5dB at 10kHz
High: +11dB at 100Hz, +11dB at 10kHz
(Reference Volume: -30dB)

Staging: You can create a sound environment that best matches the type of music you're listening to or the type of movie you're watching. You can select from the following Staging Fields: Music Studio, Dynamic Theater, Actor's Stage, or Relaxing Living Room

Listening Positions: For more natural sound, you can "focus" the stereo image to the position of the occupied seats. When used with the Staging function, you can create an enveloping panoramic sound. You can select "Left", "Center", or "Right" listening positions.

DSP Controls: The AVH-P6800DVD has controls for an optional multi-channel digital signal processor (such as the DEQ-P8000). With a connected DSP unit, you can apply seat position, time alignment adjustments, sound field controls, speaker output level adjustments with a test tone, and set cutoff frequencies.

High-volt RCA Preouts: This unit features 3 pairs of preamp outputs (Front, Rear, and Subwoofer/Non-fading). The preouts have an output voltage of 4 volts, and a low output impedance of 100 ohms, providing a strong, clear signal to your external amplifiers.

Subwoofer Preouts: In addition to the front and rear preamp outputs, there is one set of outputs that may be set for "subwoofer" or "non fading.". When set to "non fading", the signal is full range and the output level is user selectable from -12dB to +12dB. When set to "subwoofer", the outputs are non fading, and the phase can be set to normal or reverse. You can also set the frequency of the low-pass filter to 50Hz, 80Hz, or 125Hz (the slope is 18dB/octave), and adjust the level between -12dB to +12dB.

High-pass Filter: When you don't want sound in the subwoofer frequency range output from the front and rear speakers, you may activate the built-in high-pass filter. The HPF has a slope of 12dB/octave and you may select a cutoff frequency of 50Hz, 80Hz, or 125Hz.

Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function prevents radical leaps in volume when switching between sources. To use this function, you compare the volume level of the different sources (AM, CD/Changer) to the FM level, then you can adjust each source level to match the FM level. Since the reference level is based on the FM volume, SLA is not possible on FM.

Aux Input: You can connect an auxiliary audio source, such as a portable MP3 or MD player, using the built-in 3.5mm mini-jack auxiliary input on the rear panel. In addition, you can connect a second auxiliary source using an IP-Bus-RCA connector (item 130CDRB10 or item 130CDRB20, sold separately). When item 130CDRB10 is used, a CD changer cannot be connected to this unit. Item 130CDRB20 allows you to connect an optional Pioneer CD changer and an auxiliary source to this unit. You can name the Auxiliary source using Upper and lower case letters, numbers and/or symbols in the setup menu.

Cellular Mute: This feature mutes or attenuates the unit's audio output when a cellular call is received, then restores the level once the call is over. To use this feature, you must have a cellular phone with a muting output that can be connected to the muting input wire (yellow/black lead) of this unit.

Bluetooth Capabilities: When the optional Pioneer Bluetooth Adapter (CD-BTB100) is used, you can connect a cellular phone featuring Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free wireless calls, even when driving. The adapter also allows you to control and play a Bluetooth-capable audio player.

iPod Adapter Ready: The Pioneer CD-IB100ii iPod adapter (130IB100ii) allows you to play and control your iPod, iPod mini, or iPod nano, and view album, artist, or song title information on the display. The adapter allows you to perform multiple search functions, including playlist, genre, artist, and album searches. While connected, the iPod adapter also charges the iPod's battery. The adapter works with all "Dock Connector"-equipped iPods, and connects to the head unit via the IP-Bus connector.

TV Tuner Controls: If desired, you can add a compatible Pioneer TV tuner (such as GEX-P5700TV--item # 130P5700TV) to this unit, and the unit will be able to control various functions of the tuner.

Navigation Display: When used with an add-on navigation unit, you can display map and navigation menu information on this unit. A special input is provided for connection to a compatible Pioneer navigation unit.

Vehicle Dynamics: The AVH-P6800DVD can be used as a display unit for the optional AVG-VDP1 Pioneer Vehicle Dynamics Processor. With the AVG-VDP1, you can view a wide range of real-time vehicle performance data, including acceleration, lateral G-forces, estimated horsepower, and torque, in addition to speed and RPM.

Rear View Camera Capable: You can connect the optional ND-BC1 Pioneer Rear View Camera (130NDBC1) to this unit for a better view of what's behind your vehicle. You can keep an eye on loads you are towing, or for maneuvering in tight spaces. It can also automatically override the display whenever you place the vehicle in reverse gear so you can back up safely without obstructions.

Background Displays: Background displays can be selected while listening to any source. The Entertainment Menu gives you the following options: 3 Background Pictures (BGP1, 2, or 3), 2 Background Videos (BGV1 or 2), 2 Spectrum Analyzers (S/A1 or 2), 3 Background Visuals (Visual 1, 2, or 3), or Entertainment Clock.

Remote Control: The supplied remote control (CXC6317) has controls for this unit, as well as for an optional Pioneer DVD player/changer. A three-way switch lets you change from audio controls (for this unit) to TV controls (for an optional TV tuner) to DVD controls (for the built-in and/or an optional DVD player or changer). Dimensions: Length=5.855", Width=2.172", Height=0.544".

Changer Controls

Multi-CD Controls: In addition to the built-in 6-disc DVD/CD changer, the AVH-P6800DVD has the controls for an external CD changer. The unit has the following changer controls: pause, disc intro scan, track intro scan, track repeat, disc repeat, all disc repeat, disc random, and all disc random. This unit is also compatible with the CDX-P5000 50-disc changer.

ITS (Instant Track Selection) Programming: The ITS function can be used to program automatic playback of up to 99 tracks per disc for up to 100 discs. With changers sold before the CDX-P1250 and CDX-P650, up to 24 tracks can be stored in the playlist.

CD Text Display: When used with a CD Text compatible Pioneer CD changer, this unit will display the titles of CD Text encoded discs that are played in the changer. The titles can be displayed in a list, and a track can be selected from the list for playback. CD Text disc titles, artist names and track titles longer than 20 characters may be scrolled to reveal the entire string of text.

CD Sound Quality Adjustment: Using the "COMP" (compression) and "DBE" (dynamic bass emphasis) functions, you can adjust the playback quality of the changer. Each function may be set to one of two levels or off. The "COMP" function compresses the audio signal to eliminate distortions caused by the imbalances between the loudest and softest sounds when played at high volumes. The "DBE" function boosts bass frequencies to give your music a more full sound. Note: For these functions to work, they must be supported by the Pioneer CD changer.
