Silly little story

So I was out by the key. There's these little hermit crab type things everywhere. They dig little "fox holes" and run back to them when you try to get close and catch them. I was making a half assed attempt at catching some with no luck. Pretty much looking like an ass chasing them and not catching them.

This little Mexican boy of about maybe 6 years old walks up to me and can't speak a lick of English. He was trying to tell me something in Spanish and Im like "WTF" little dude. He kept showing me his hands as if to "grab" it with the other. Without speaking a word. Kind of like what a crab would do. Then he reach's into his pocket and pulls a zip lock bag out.

In the bag is about 10 little crabs going nuts! I was like whooooa little dude, how'd you catch those? He didnt know what I was saying.

Then he showed me. He would put his finger by the little hole in the sand and use his other hand to push the sand down around it. The crab would run out and "pinch" onto his finger! Then he would throw it in the baggie. He did say one word "Pinchy" while giggling hysterically. Then I knew what he was trying to do. He was trying to help teach me how to catch these little crabs.

Yep... pretty much LOL!!!!

And ya, he used his finger as bait! Whats funny is that I left and he was still catching them. I have no idea what you'd do with them. Maybe eat them? They arent much bigger than like a half dollar though.

I dont know if there is much point to this story but it was cool.

You know that's a great story - Rags I wouldn't say he was a dumb shit. That probably didn't hurt at all and he was getting the job done!

And you managed to communicate despite the language barrier. Good stuff! Wonder if he's selling them to a pet store.

He might be! Thats funny. He was a cool kid and he tought me how to catch them without saying anything but "pin-sing" (pinching). Good for him if he'sselling them for money. I wonder if they eat those little things?
