DIY Black Chrome
I had an idea a while ago and finally got around to trying it. Im not sure if anyone else has done this yet. I had some left over VHT night shades from when I did my taillights. I figured if it could let some red through from the taillights then why cant it let some of the chrome and shine through from an emblem. So I took my horse off my grille and cleaned it up with alcohol first to get any wax off that might have been on there. Then washed it off twice with grease and wax remove then took a cheese cloth and whipped if off to make sure there was no dirt. I sprayed one coat on and let it sit for 5 minutes then sprayed a 2nd light coat. And this was the end result. I thought it turned out pretty good. Let me know what you think.

honestly i have a 07 and the side emblems have the american colors which is cool but only thing that stands out on a all black car i wanna paint the stripes all black..

looks good, I wish I would have thought of this before I sanded my chrome down and sprayed it flat black.
