i tighten mine to 100' lbs. just set it on your torque wrench. then tighten it till it clicks and gives way. you'll know what i mean when it happens. i'd advise you hand tighten them with the extension first then use a regular ratchet for a few turns to get them snug. otherwise you'll be turning forever with the torque wrench

your average person tightens with a wrench to 100-130 ftpounds, only thing that over tightens lugnuts is an air compressor

100' lbs is recommended by most every tire place or dealer i've been to. i'm a pretty skinny bastard and that is pretty damn easy to get to with just a socket and ratchet, much less a tire iron or 4way.

yeah most manufactures recommend 100-180 so there is some room to not have a torque wrench. I mean if you wrench on it and jump on the 4 way itll be super tight, but your average guy comfortably tightening something will put around 100' pounds

that is false my friend... impact guns have a few negative effects ~ a) over tighten and b) are inconsistent(?s?)

and the average person can tighten a lot more than that - when you overtighten a few things will happen
a) the studs will stretch to their limit - rendering them useless
b) make it almost impossible to take off later on in life
c) you hit a pothole - studs snap and the wheel will fall off - it happens, beleive it or not

EDIT: thanks for clarifying on your next post =P

anyways... For christmas i got remote car starter for a standard trans =), car alarm, body spray, sweaters, and an aviator jacket =)

Mom - Clothes, a huge thing full of beer I have never heard of and a book on Beer of America, and two Padron 4000 series Maduro's

Aunt- Norman Rockwell book. It is amazing.

Grandma - Macanudo Ashtray. It's black with gold. And she also got me a beautiful desk Savoy humidor

Girlfriend - Clothes, The Dark Knight Collectors edition with the coin, and comic book, a program to learn French since we both want to learn it, and Fallout 3 for the PC

I am very fortunate to have received what I have, and I was overwhelmed with everything I did get...OOH and I also got some Irish Coffee Glasses. Back to what I was saying. The things that I received were amazing, and way too much to spend on me when honestly a hug, and maybe a sandwich would do it for me. I think they really wanted to spend money on me because of all the ruts I've been thrown recently, and this was kinda a congratulatory/xmas set of gifts.

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope all of yours is safe, joyous, and nothing short of great.
yeah just quoted myself from another thread.

That idea of getting my girlfriend that Nikon Coolpix camera was a great idea. She absolutely loves it.

Most lug nuts are between 100-130 ft lbs.

You can also use a tire iron

I forgot to tell you about one of the presents my daughter got. Well, since the dog thing was a disaster, wifey couldnt let this alone. The lady that had these kittens was neglecting them. Yesterday morning, this little dude came here and I didnt even know till this morning. He's been hiding under J's bed. Looks like that cat I "protested" getting so much ended up here anyway. Oh well. He's cool.

The new camera I bought for the kids works rreal good too. Not bad for a $97 camera. 8mp Nikon Colorpix. Those pictures look ok.

I'll have you know, I have snapped off lugs before using a 1/2" drive ratchet. Just not on my car, and it was intentional.

Breaking lug nuts and lug studs sucks.... Thats why i hate changing from the bullitts to the prostars on the mustang... also the main reason why it sits on prostars from the first week in march to the end of october...

But i got some money. going to be used for the new 315/75/16 Big O BigFoot A/Ts on the truck... also got a Carhart coat, a hoodie, a shirt, and a nice picture remeberance of the Mustang and the stages it has gone through..

Hey FM1--- not to rape this thread but just tell me your opinion on this real quick.
8lb standing rib roast (boneless)
brought to room temp and dry rubbed.
500 degree's for 10 minutes than reduce heat to 325 and continue for about 80 minutes. Pull out of oven and let stand for 20 to let finish. I'll put a thermometer in the meat and keep an eye on it and if it hits 120, pull it?

Hows that sound?
