sooooo im deaf and it bothers me

went out today to do some target practice with my new .45. well i went to bass pro and got some some what i thought were fancy ear plugs. well get a few clips through and felt fine until i pulled the plugs out. my left ear feels and sounds like theres a plug in it permenatley when theres nothing there. pretty well very muffled sound and ringing. i hope i didnt do permanet damage. this is really bothering me. im getting some fucking muffs before i go back out fuck plugs

If your ear is messed up, you may need to get it checked. I have a friend who blew out his eardrum never went to the doc and he is permanently deaf in that ear. Seriously...get it checked.

i usually wear foamies AND muffs when i shoot. never had any residual ringing or ear numbness after. double hearing protection never hurt anyone.

+1 to putting the plug in correctly...sounds dumb, but you could have put it in too far.

could have not put it in enough..
See how it is in the morning and if is the same or worse, go to the emergency room.

If you wake up tonight in pain, or find blood on your pillow, then you got problems.

I was in a tree stand with my uncle when I was 13. He shot his .357 at a heard of doe, about 10 inches from my right ear, I didnt know he was going to shoot. I was disoriented for two days after. Even to this day, sometimes my ear will burst out into a loud ringing for about 5 minutes. Its a pain.

Yeah, hard lesson learned, I shot a 9mm ONCE and lost hearing my left ear (just hightones) but it made me realize wearing MUFF'S everytime not those foamy craps

Then I thought wow it would suck to be deaf...

Are you sure you didn't just get moisture in your ear from sweat, and/or mush around some wax in your ear. You know, similar to when you get water in your ear once in a while from swimming?

yea i did all that this aint the first time ive wore plugs. been shooting sense i was 13. just shitty plugs

ive had swimmers ear a few times. nothing like this lol.

I have never worn ear protection when firing the guns... granted the 22 does not make any noise... but the 357 does

maybe i should think about doing htis...

And yeah, I used to shoot a 357-pretty noisy! : ) Get some protection. I've never shot without it...course that was like 20 years ago.

oh i always use hearing protection. this time i was the victum of shitty ass plugs. and zip i know i got that ive had some hearing loss for years i havent been able to hear most high pitch noises for as long as i can remember
