Do HDMI cables really make a difference?

I'm thinking about buying one for my 360, is it worth it?

Not unless you buy top of the line. I have 2 monster cables (100 a piece) on my 360 and my bluray player. Difference is night and day. Try watching 300 on bluray on a 52 inch with 100 hdmi cables. You wet yourself numerous times

Can your TV run 1080 or 720? How far away from the TV do you sit when gaming? Are you running audio out of a receiver where you'll get increased audio benifits or just the TV?

These really have to be answered before you can get a good answer to your question.

well im not spending 100 bucks, so i guess my picture quality on cod will just have to suck.

Yes it is a 1080, but for some reason, when I turn it on it says 420p. Whats up with that?

I sit about 7-10 feet away when gaming, and yes I do have a surround sound setup.

Try messing with your tv settings. I think mine did the same thing.

20 dollar dynex hdmi will show improved quality if thats what your looking for. Try messing with ur tv's quality first.

You'll most likely notice some better picture and better audio. If you're concerned about which cable to buy then go to Best Buy, Circuit City, HH Greg, etc and look. Get two of the same TV next to each other and have them plug two separate HDMI cables into them (one expensive and one cheaper). If you can't tell a difference, buy the cheaper one. There's no reason to spend $150 on a HDMI cable if you personally can't distinguish it from a $40 HDMI cable.
