Thumbs down

I've Landed on my Desicion

So I didnt get that job at the collsion shop because they wouldnt insure me. So it will be the same story everywhere. So im going with the other option. Im joining the coast guard. I've been wanting to do it for awhile and just weighing the options. Well after talking to coastie tonight (and thanks again for answering my millions of questions) Im going to do it. I called the recruiter earlier today and left a message on the phone so he'll call me back. We'll probly set up dates and stuff to take asvabs and what not. I gotta score decent to get in (wich I hope I can do good enough I got my book to study from) And im starting tommorow to get myself back in shape even tho I have no idea if I can get in yet. Wish me luck everyone on scoring high enough and getting in. I really want to get stationed in Kodiak if I do end up getting in. I just need a stroke of luck and pounding the pavement to get er done haha. But I think I can do it

If you have about 6 weeks of free time, i'd highly recommend taking the coast guard auxilary course...not sure if they still do it, but back in 96 they would have offered e-3 out of basic for completing the course.

One thing i must preach...never join any form of the military just for a job or college...though the coast guard falls under the department of homeland security, it is still military...you could be in a situation that will risk your life defending those at home.

Do it because you want to be pro-active towards our country's protection...raising your right hand means a hell of a lot more than just getting a pay check.

If I wasn't in the position that I was in right now Derrick. I would join with you right now. I would love to be on an ice breaker.
