In all actuality, I guess the moral of the story is that you feel bad for being a bad friend. I dont think you should at all. It sounds like, at least in this instance that you did everything a good friend should, and he keeps making stupid decisions. You cant feel responsible for something you tried to stop.....I mean you could have went a bit further, but really, maybe it is not your responsibility to do that.

I think there are some people out there who just dont get it. I have one of those friends and he is now just pretty much a buddy I talk to and hang with on occasion. I have been burned to many times by him and tried to help him with no avail, and it frustrated the shit out of me. So I just put a little separation between us and stopped giving him advice and help and let him live his life. I feel no remorse for what happens to him.....as I have tried to many times.

Dont feel bad, he must have laid the guilt on thick this time huh?
