Wow, just wow. New clutch is in

Wow is all I have to say about it... The difference is night and day. The return on the clutch pedal seems to lag, but I'm sure that will disappear after it breaks in correctly.

Here are pics of the old POS Spec...

There so many hot spots on that damned pressure plate I can't even count em all... The flywheel was just as bad if not worse. Pilcher (the machinist who resurfaced my flywheel) said it was mainly due to the incorrect flywheel job last time AND the massive amounts of chatter and vibration I got out of it. Also the pressure plate diaphram (fingers) the bottom ones were BENT OUTWARD so it made the TOB have an uneven surface to sit on.

Having a transmission jack was so fucking useful that NO MATTER WHAT if I do a clutch on any other car, it will be done on a lift with a transmission jack.

So far I've heat cycled to RAM 3 times now. Just driving it about 15 miles at a time and going through neighborhoods going stop sign to stop sign, then parking her.

I have an exhaust leak on the passenger side header flange Does the gasket go tall side inside the HEADER or the MIDPIPE?

The flat part of the gasket goes towards the manifold and the "raised" part of the gasket goes into the midpipe

I just ripped my midpipe off and worked on it quite a bit. What I did was take high temp RTV and put it around the flange of the midpipe, then took the gasket and put RTV on both sides to create a double sided gasket. I got it as tight as I can with hand tools.

I haven't cranked it yet because I'm gonna let the RTV sit for an hour or two before I give it any heat.

Dude, I could NOT be happier. I gave it half throttle up to 2500 in 2nd gear just to see how it's holding and it's pulling JUST like it should. So far I haven't taken it above 2500-2800ish, put about 57 miles on it and been heat cycling it.

The exhaust leak is ALSO 100% fixed. Now if I could just figure out whats wrong with my cruise control, my car would be 100% perfect again. One could only hope though right?

I believe he did use the RAm tob because it gave him a warranty with the clutch.

A 1 FULL YEAR warranty.

I bought a RAM OE Stock Replacement for the 2V 01-04 GT/99-01 Cobra from LMR.

Dude. I would reccomend this clutch to ANYONE that has a mild bolt on car. PERIOD. End of story. Spec is garbage. RAM is the way to go PERIOD. I'm using the stock cable and quadrant system as well.

The pedal vibrated on the first drive and that was it, but tha was due to the cable setting in. Right now, I'm letting it cool after another heat cycle. I gave her a littler perk in first gear to see how shes holding up (only to 3000 RPM though) and it's wonderful. No slippage so far and I now have about 74 miles on her.

Dude, there was no real break in. No chattering no nothing. It was like it came off the factory line man. Just give it the good 500 miles break in.

I used the RAM TOB. It looked JUST LIKE the Ford OEM one, which if I'm not mistaken, RAM actually makes quite a few of the Ford stock replacement Clutches and Ford will actually put these on and order them for you. Don't quote me though.

gald you got it fixed.... but that flex plate and clutch actually dont look bad at all... my clutch looks a hell of a lot worse and the pressure plate looks similar to yours except much larger hot spots. but my TOB only made noise when in first gear decelerating too...

but i am glad yours is back and running properly... wish my shit would stay together truck and stang included...
