Ugh...

So my roommate got orders. He's heading to Sheppard AFB, TX to be a tech school instructor....for 4 years.

He bought the house we're living in, in May, and got order 5 months later.

We haven't really been that worried about anything until now. He's gonna be leaving in 2 weeks. I would REALLY like to stay in this place by myself. 3 br/2bath, 1975 sq ft, hot tub, 2 car garage, fenced back yard, fireplace etc... It's a really nice place. He said he would prefer that I keep living there, because he knows and trusts me. I just don't know how I'm going to afford it, and still be able to get out and do things once in a while. I'm real picky when it comes to who I live with, that's why we've lived together for 5 years. We used to work swingshift together, so we'd see each other all day before work, all day AT work, then go shoot pool after work...and for 5 years have not once had any major disagreement. I'm really skeptical about finding someone to move in to help with the rent and bills. Especially since I don't know anyone that needs/wants a roommate, and would more than likely have to start posting on criagslist and shit. That kinda freaks me out a bit.

Ugh, this is gonna suck...

Yeah, but he's gotta find a place to live out there too. He's already paying like $1400 a month for this place....then another $600 or so to rent a place out there...or he's actually thinking about buying a place. He's gonna be paying on 2 residences and only live at one. We think that we could survive with me paying him what I do now, and him covering everything else, but we wouldn't be able to really do anything extra at all. Finding someone else to chip in would help us out a TON

If I'm not mistaken, base housing is only for married couples or single parents.

ouch, that's a tough situation. sounds like a good friend. Honestly, if you need to find a roommate, i'd make sure it's a girl..i can't stand living with guys i don't know.

maybe talk to one of your friends about moving in with you.

None of my friends need roommates. The one I have now is really the only single guy I know. Everyone else is married, or living with their sig others (basically married)

I would MUCH rather find a chick...that would be optimal, but I don't see many chicks wanting to live with a single guy...

I'm really picky about people I would live with. I posted something on the local forums, so hopefully someone there knows someone that is looking.
