Ok well me and this guy were talking about ford vs chevy and he said a z06 is faster the the ford gt and that a z28 is faster than a 03 cobra and told him no way but he knew more about the ls1 or whatever is in those car so ... educate me about the 5.4 motor and the 4.6 4v cause I have a 5.0 and that's usal what I look up so help me out

i'm not to sure about the ford gt vs the c6 z06 but i do know that a properly driven ls1 camaro vs a properly driven termie, it's pretty much neck and neck. the 5.4 shelby will nose out on an ls1......

12.8 is what an average Termi can run dude...

12.8 out of a Z28 is Jesus driving. Yes, I'm sure there's been a few, but you're ocmparing the best driver to an average driver.

A termi could see a 12.3 stock with a good driver. Sorry, but there's a half second that the Z28 is still waiting on.

Yes but were underrated nd typically put out about 290-310 RWHP.

Termi's put out normally around 370 RWHP which were also under rated. Termi weighs about 150 lb more and has an IRS.

The Termi should win everytime stock for stock, but a slightly modded Z28 with one hell of a driver will give most Termi owners a run for their money.

they were rated at 305 but actually have about 300 going to the wheels

I understand they are underated but the cobra is also under rated.The numbers dont add up!I know that those ls1s are quick but i think its going a little overboard to think that stock for stock with the same skilled driver that a z28 would win.

actually no, you put a damn good driver in a 03 cobra it will run 12.4's, and walk a Z28 or SS stock for stock, or mod for mod. i have many 12.4X time slips from when my 03 cobra was bone stock down to the crappy eagle F1's. my 04 i had at the track when it just have X pipe, catback, instake, and shifter on 18's and nitto DR's and i have a 11.89 pass from that WITH over 100LBS of subs and amps in the back.

not to mention i ran a number of stock LS1 cars when my 03 was stock and not one of them could even hang. they went down every time.

if you want to talk "cold hard facts" a termi is a half second faster down the quarter when "driven like there no tomarrow" than a Z28 driven equally.

as far as Z06 being faster than a FGT, what Z? C5, or C6? no way in hell is a C5Z keeping up with a FGT, it just will not happen. but a C6Z vs. FGT is most likely a drivers race. the FGT has a little more power, but also weighs a little more. i would call this a drivers race. its hard to say which would win unless you got two equally great drivers.

I know they aren't the most accurate numbers, but googling it shows the C6 Z06 with a 0-60 of right around 3.7s and the FGT at 3.3s. FGT bhp is 550, Z06 is 505. Weight of FGT is 3390.7lb, Z06 is 3132. Would certainly be close given the drivers, but on equal footing I'd take the FGT.

advertised 1/4 is FGT at 11.6 and Z06 right at 12.0. I don't think those are the most accurate times for a Z06 though.

are those figured by the same people that could only get the C6Z to run 12's too? you are also aware a bone stock C6Z with a great driver is capable of high 10's, and mid 10's with a set of drag radials, right?

i would take a C6Z over a FGT any day of the week, its just a much better car. ive also driven both and been nearly 200MPH in both.
