i met my wife 6 months before my last deployment. here we are, almost 6 years later, still going strong. it is a shitty thing when guys get cheated on while they're deployed, but in my experience there were plenty of guys on the boat cheating on their wives, too. hey as far as i was concerned, what happens overseas stays overseas. when i came back from my first deployment, there was something like a 60% divorce rate. definitely not an environment conducive to normal, healthy relationships. it takes people who are really committed to each other to survive that kind of lifestyle...

Any man who will sleep with a man's wife or girl who is devoting every breath 24/7-365 in a place that is 150 degree's in the summer and 25 degree's in the winter and never feels like home no matter how many pictures you have... Deserves to be shot and rolled around on wax paper covered with tabasco sauce with glass under it, then beat with a sock full of wood screw drenched in dog shit so every cut gets fatal infection..

Yea this shit happens all the time. It sucks, plain and simple. I remember coming back from deployment and watching one of the CPOs leaving the boat to see his kid of 4 months for the first time, and I remember watching another guys leave and see his wife pregnant of about 5 months.

And people wonder why returning service members get into trouble for bashing some one's skull in?

bro, when i came home from my first deployment, this one guy went topside to see his wife. she was there with their 2 kids, and she was 4 months pregnant. we were gone for 6 months. she didn't fly out to any of our liberty ports to see him. and she brought her new boyfriend along with her. she dropped off the 2 kids and then took off with the new boyfriend. fucking bitch...

Amen to that. It takes two to tango. I don't see how a guy could walk away with any self-respect after -knowingly- sleeping with a military wife/girlfriend.
