automotive paint

i am trying to get some stock ford oxford white paint, cause i need to do some painting on my car but have no idea where to find it.

if anybody has some ideas or knows where to find it pleas let me know. thank you very much.

Dude where ya been?

I got some of my paint from the dealer. I had to give them my vin number and the everything and they ordered it. It was a small bottle of touch up, but they could get more if you need it. That is the only place to get the color match perfect. Dealer or bust.

Thats just a rediculous statement, I have bought paint and mixed my own paint that matched more times than i can count. Buying it from my local ppg jobber or mixing my own paint from a mixing bank.

The only way to get a truly perfect match would be to have a automotive paint store use a color spectrum analyzer on your car. That way if there is any fading or variation from the original paint code it will pick it up, and make the appropriate adjustments to the formula. Almost every color that ive mixed has had at least one variation listed. Ive even seen some colors have as many as five variation mixtures. So dont think just because it doesnt come from a dealership it wont match.

I would either take it somewhere to get the color read, or just take them your paint code and have them mix some paint for you and blend into the door and hood if you want to. If you have an oriellys near you, you can check with them because most orielys carry dupont paint. I personally preffer PPG or Sikkens for factory colors, but sometimes you have to use whats availible.
