I love how the price of a barrel of crude for delivery beginning February is below $35 (5 months ago was $140/barrel)... What a stable commodity petroleum is - falling 75% in half a year after doubling in less that time. If gas prices and petrol barrel prices were more closely correlated, we should have <$1/gallon 87 (no ethanol added) octane gasoline.

The need for alternative energy/more efficiency is a long-term realization. However, I am a fan of incorporating benefits to the technology now.

State of cooling huh? Well, do you think that any of our taxation on gas guzzlers and insane vehicle emission standards will ease up to help out the big 3 and other manufacturing plants in America adding both employment and economic uprise? Fuck no. We could be on the verge of global freezing and some would still be chanting "save the polarbears!"

Why would we ease legislation when Peak Oil is expected to be reached in the year 2020?

Peak Oil: ASPO International | The Association for the Study of Peak Oil and Gas

In 2020, most experts believe Peak Oil will be achieved (that is, half of the world's retrievable oil will have been extracted for use or storage.

Problem with oil is as soon as the price per barrel starts to increase we see an increase within days. Even though the gas they are selling was purchased at a much lower rate. When the price per barrel starts to decrease the oil companies take their time to decrease the prices we see. It usually takes around two months before we see any drop in gas prices to go with the drop in oil prices.

I know this. I am using current data from Bloomberg, and I know the time delay in pricing and storage-use. Notice today's price is for use in the beginning of February.

This is based off the idea that oil takes millions of years to be created by constant pressure and heat. On multiple instances of American drilling sites show that a once completely dry oil field refilled in a matter of months. I'll try to find the articles on it, i wrote a paper on the topic.

Please do. If petrol oil can be created in months, you should be a trillionaire.

eh, it was more along the lines of them debating what oil is made from, whether its from melting magma or decaying carbon. It apparently seeps back into the locations from places unknown much deeper underground and mostly from unknown uncalculated locations under the ocean. It was like 7 years ago when i last looked at any of this stuff.

A recent report from the Department of Energy Task Force on Strategic Energy Research and Development concluded from the Woods Hole project that "these new data and interpretations strongly suggest that the oil and gas in the Eugene Island field could be treated as a steady-state rather than a fixed resource."

But, if this were 100 true, i wouldnt be a trillionaire. The price of oil would go down because of the increase in supply.

Why leak the information? As of now, this information is not widely known (I research alternative energies weekly, and I would hope for a career financing some energy goals.

Oil recovery is a science. Geologic understanding and political connections grant economic access to reserves, and with current technology, we are nearing Peak Oil.

I read somewhere, not sure if it was credible or not, that fuel can be readily created from anything that contains carbon matter, so every such as dead branches, leaves, soils, ect could just be converted easily to fuel.... Anyone look into that? I wish I had saved that article I read.
