I'm fairly decent with the hand held and most of its user programmable options. Whats up? Need someone to take a look at a datalog or are you having trouble setting it up?

I turn on and open the software on the computer (nothing plugged in yet)
Plug in the Xcal to the OBD Turn the car on Plug the USB from bottom of the xcal into the port on my laptop Hit the graph button pick my PIDS ....nothing happens. the graph just sits there static doing nothing. |

Ok. I think I see what is wrong. Firstly, have you created a save file for the datalogging session? For example, I label mine Log1.csv Log2.csv.. Etc...
If you have; Connect everything up and boot up your laptop. Turn the key to the RUN position but do not start it. Select the parameters you want to load. Then start the car. The dails accross the top are analog signals that you would use via connnecting them to your Xcal. Such as boost or wide band A/F so those don't really matter. If everything is hooked up correctly and you went through the setup process correctly, then you should start seeing lines scroll across the bar graph. These are the parameters that you selected to datalog. Last edited by JakeM; January 25th, 2009 at 02:34 PM. |

There must be a glitch in my software.I went and tried it like 5 times. I got it to log once with just the MAF ad air counts. With multiple PIDs it doesnt log. I'm going to try again later when I get my "patience" back.

Right on. Sounds like your getting it right if your dataloging some stuff but not others. You did the setup process right for sure...... Thats strange.
Anyone else got any ideas? |

OK,
Got some data. I could only get it to run with 5 PIDS or less. I will call SCT tomorrow and see what can be done. This is good though. I was able to get some important data. What I need to know now is how to get the data in the Xcell back onto the graph so I can look at it. |
