They are supposed to be smart and loving dogs. Its just everyone is a afriad of the amount of food required and poo acquired.

her name is emma. she's starting to get old, but she's still kickin. full blood and a good line also. if you know anything about danes you'll know that their heads are supposed to be squared off not rounded.

this is the only picture i have here in iraq though. she's our big dumb whore

You guys should see GT2006's mastif. His name is Thor

Similar in size to great danes though, but Thor is by far the biggest dog I've ever seen. Sonnabitch weighs 150 solid and is like 8 maybe 9 months old.

Good dog though and he's fucking hilarious. He sings and all that. He thinks he's a tiny dog and tries to sit in your lap and shit.

mastifs are very good dogs, but danes look much better. both have excellent mannerisms and are great around kids. they do think they are lap dogs

Did you know the dog's parents, or are you just assuming he was a Dane/lab mix?

I've got a pure-bred lab that's got the blocky head (it's the English lineage), he's around 100 lbs, and I constantly have people ask if he's part Mastiff because of how big his head is.

only 150lbs, thats a small mastiff. My american bulldog weighed 140 when we got him. Big mastiffs weigh in at about 200 or more. And yes Great Danes are very good dogs too. There are two of them in my apartment complex, the guys catches the dogs poop before it even hits the ground with a bag, its pretty funny to watch

the fountain of knowledge is back at it again with one of his hourly bullshit spurts.

a great dane is a VERY popular dog. sure its no lab, or pit which are very common, but its still a very popular breed

Yeah I got one. Just got it right before christmas. Hes fawn and great temperment. I plan on keeping an eye out for bloat and hip dysplasia by keeping regular xrays done on him.
Yes they are popular but like mentioned not like a pit. But you gotta look at the complete picture.Alot of PPL breed pits like crazy and dont give a shit about blood lines and all that. Most (not gonna say all) dane breeders are critical about breeding and back yard breeders. Thus why they arent a cheap dog to purchase or to maintain.
Mine is 13months old and gets his obeidence training next month.
Owning a dane is like owning no other dog, they are very good with ppl and mine is good with other dogs. Very gentle, and has no clue that he is as large as he is. We have been spoiling the shit out of ours. They think they are ppl and they ARE the worlds largest "lap dog"!!!!

I will post pics later, to tired right now.
