What do ya think?

If Obama is able to allow various states to enforce tighter emission regulations on cars, I'm seriously doubting GM's ability to release the Camaro, probably the same would hold true for a 5.0 GT in 2011. You think GM would still release a Camaro with a downgraded engine? or perhaps with more limitations in place via the computer (which could be removed aftermarket)? I would like to see the new fish released, but don't see it happening if emissions get cut down even further in large selling states like california.

That's what worries me, even though I'm not in the market of buying another stang any time soon. I would suck to see it pass and then they would have to downgrade the quality the companies were already shooting for. It sucks more for us here in Cali since they're tightwads about emissions here. Regardless there's still going to be a way to get around it in the aftermarket but it would be harder to keep the cars emissions legal

The "hand-me-down" market is professionally referred to as the Used-Car Market, the Pre-Owned Vehicle Market, and the Second Hand Car Market. ModdedMustangs is a professional site, and we encourage the use professional jargon.

A lot of times, an older car can file for exemption under lower emissions standards so long as it was produced before those standards were enforced. If you aren't able to file for exemption, I believe there are also methods of getting reimbursement for bringing your car up to standard.

I dont see the restrictions happening at least not how they are proposing it. There would be no structure for manufacturers to follow. They can build a car and then a state can change reg when ever they want I dont think so.

I see, that would be nice for my friend since his Camaro is 1979 and standards were probably crap back then. I might have to do a bit more research and see what we could do for his car then.

Yare yare, and how does this contribute to this discussion? I don't suppose cussing and belittling people is part of being professional as well?

Least he got the point across.

Now tell me, how do you really feel

Not you specifically but people in general.

As for putting in keywords for making this thread appear in search, I say touché.

The jist of it is that he would allow states who want to impose stricter emissions standards, to do so. As it is now, EPA regulates it all.

I'm moving to Arizona and registering my cars (when I get more) there

Actually... We have a place there so I think I can!

I'll just stay here for school though

But they best not put no more emission regulations for the meantime, this Mexican will be sad

lets all burn our cars and walk everywhere from now on. We can grow our hair long and wear sandals and be like jesus. Lets make computers our of bamboo, tables out of tofu, and we can sing coom bye yah (sp) while not showering because the soap can kill bacteria and well, hey, bacteria needs to live too!

Fuck emissions, they keep getting more and more strict and costing the American public more and more and more. These new laws will do nothing but continue to hurt this economy while other countries are doing nothing to save the planet.

The world is suffering from global cooling right now anyways...
