Track guru's


See if you can help me out

what kinda:
rwhp
and 60ft would one need for
9.50s @140+

Car weight is 2800-2900lbs
nitrous/turbo car. RWD

Thanks in advance

I've got 629hp need for 140 traps with 2900lbs..and 9.74s


but the calculator i used was estimated for crank hp.....629crank with an est 15% loss is only showing you'd need 535rwhp...that seems a bit low for such a trap..

Don't those calculators usually ignore aerodynamics? That would explain "only" needing 535whp to trap 140.

A really good Auto w/ a transbrake and about 700hp at the crank I would think would get you there.... You may have to gear it down too.... Transbrake's are critical for a turbo car if you ask me... Especially if you wanna be that fast. High stall converter too.

Why do you have to have a 140+ Trap speed? Thats a lil' much.....

actually it'll be through a built T5
reving to 6300-6500 i can top out at 140 or a lil over...

I want a trap oover 140 to beat a Current V6 record holder tat i believe is a pure waste of a motor and boost.

which would be about half the boost the current record holds...

in other word V6 record is 30psi-638rwhp running 9.8s at 138
i want about 600-650 on 16-18psi and hit 140 and anything better then 9.8


its a Cash track race I will be trying to lock

also i say 2900lbs but it MAY be less...3000 now before suspension mods, UPR k-member, A-arms, and lighter wheels as well as manual sterring

Well there's a guy in town that has a 620 rwhp Fox that runs 9.5X's at 147 ish

Maybe you can use that as an estimate? His is a nitrous car and he sprays off the line through a built C4, but has now gone to a 2 speed powerglide.

That will be a fun ride in a 5 speed. A lot more challenging too! You could always do a pro-shift style T-5. That'd help you get down the 1320 quicker. Just don't try to downshift.

The 9.5X fox also weighs about 3300 possibly more. Its a full street car. Heavy as shit

yeah thats why I was considering a C4...but doing it through a manual makes it that much more unique
granted this tranny is the toughest promotion can build anyway and is only rated to 600crank...once this blows its either the extremely cheap C4 option or a T56 with a 26spline upgrade.

considering i do track/street racing as well i may just save for the t56 although it'd be a million times easier in a c4 to hit my goal

lol yeah, to bad this T5 may not live through that much power though...even though promotion has sponsors running deep 9s with it.
