alright so here is the skivy this time round. my girl lost her licence so i was the bitch who took here every where paid for all the gas, even to travle up to our parents house two and ahalf hours away. i clean the house all that jazz. any way i put her on my insurance getting her the sr22, so i am unemployed collecting $239 a week from unemployment an i paid this month around 700 already in bills. around 400 for all of that plus my bills gas an so on. now i figured cause i did this she would cover the rent this month.

so she messages me an hour ago an asks when she will get rent. i am pissed off cause i will over exceed my unemployment this month an go under. an after i said this she said i quote, i feel bad but i still need it.

now throught the last month an a half i have been told i dont do anything, an that i have to be on her schedual an do what she says.

now what do you guys think should be done mind you i already know what i am doing but i just wanted to rant an get opinions

Kick her to the curb. Tell her that if she wants a ride anywhere that she's gonna have to pay up for gas because you cannot afford to drive her everytwhere AND pay for rent. If she says no, just leave her.

There are really two options here:

The most popular: Get rid of her.

The Second: Sit her ass down, have the good ole "Come to Katen" speach. Basically say:

Hey, look, I'm unemployed, we need to figure out the finances shit if this is going anywhere. I'm living off of unemployment checks and trying to cover for both of us while trying to get a job. This isnt going to work out if you cant help me some.. I need you to help out by getting a job, anywhere, doing something, do telemarketing work, just something to help us get through this rough spot. I cant do this by myself, and trying to cover for both of us is hurting us both. I'm trying to get a job (HINT HINT Get a job ) and if you can too that will help us both out and we can get through this and be happy again.

That of course begs to question whether you truely care about her or not to want it to go anywhere else. I know it burns your ass that she is doing this, but maybe she would be willing to help? There are plenty of jobs open for all time slots, both of you will ahve to make some sacrifices on stuff to make it through, so dont think it's JUST her, you have to work at this too!

I am more in favor of option 2, mainly because people will never learn to work at a relationship if they think it's just easy mode for both involved. It requires work, a lot of it too and if something isnt working out you guys need to work together to get through it, or go about your seperate ways on good terms.

Last bit of advice: Dont use the phrase "We need to talk" and dont pin this soley on her, you need to be part of the problem just as much as she is (and thats the truth!) and you need to be willing to work at it. All pinning her as the problem will do is create a rift between you, and put her on the bitchy defensive. Have a serious heart to heart talk and get it figured out.

If that doesnt work, then I'm with the majority, leave her at the curb.

I was going to note this as well. I got paid anywhere between $5.75 and $7.65 an hour for my first 4 jobs in high school and college, and the easy route is to just do nothing and get paid... However, scholarships/grants, now I am getting $10,500 extra each year to not need a job so desperately. I am not a fan of welfare - it seems to promote laziness.
