its always scary..
When my brother sends me this video..
his truck is the dakota.. he's had his liscence since may, and his friends both got theirs in the past month.. its crazy to see young kids driving like this.. but hopefully they'll know how to drive better when its needed to avoid an accident.

your brother looks 12.
those kids suck at snow drifting. tell them to take the 4wd off if they are going to work in such a small area, that will allow them to whip the tail end of the car more and will also allow for "drifting" as opposed to just slipping from side to side. oh, and those kids look 12 if i didn't say that already.

haha wait till he trips the fuel saftey switch on the exploder! , dont the dekotas have open diffs on them? you should get you parents to install that on it, and no more so called "drifting", trust me my truck has a open diff on it and it's also 2wd, no fun when you have 700lbs holding the rear down. o and the first time he smacks a curb with the rear of his truck he's going to flip out and think he snapped something. oh and spinning out isnt called drifting

Actually, my brother WORKED for his truck. paid for the entire thing by working at a grocery store. The other two kids were handed their trucks to em.

You need to really smack em for thinking they sound cool talking like that too. Seein a 13-17 year old trying to "talk cool" is one of the funniest and most moronic things in the world.

Aside from the way they chose to talk, its fine.
I see it this way. We all have spent time in an empty parking lot spinning around. You learn through play. They werent getting close to any other cars and truthfully, they were spinning extremely slowly. Its really not a bad idea to get an idea of how your vehicle handles and reacts on a snowy surface. Especially when you are young and inexperienced. Flame me if you want, I dont think its the worse thing a kid that age can do. Could they run into a curb, bust into a tree, run over a sign or damage their truck? YES. But they didnt and is far as I could see never really even got close. See, I will MAKE my kid do that. The only difference is that I will be in the truck with him and teaching him how to handle it. |

I just watched the end of it.... they were too close to one another. You cant do that in that close of a space with multiple trucks sliding around.

through a lot of the video, it seemed like they were in an empty lot, but if u look carefully, at times there are parked cars maybe 35 feet away from them

i agree with JASonic. i actually had the chance to finally get some practice sliding in the snow and i took it. why? because i felt i didnt have a good feel when it came to sliding and losing control of my car. everything JASonic said i will also do with my kid also. hopefully it will make me a better driver as well......but on a side note it was HELLA fun.

Scott... YOu know every time it snows Jeff and I go and do shit like that, but we are always in ONE truck, and it always in that empty target parking lot... Explains how we are basically fear less in a car though, we both are confident in each others driving, which helps, and honestly it has made me a better driver in the snow...

Hi I am the kid with the Dakota. First of all I had MY truck in 2wd. Also, I paid for the truck with MY own money and I FIX everything myself or pay to have it fixed just to make that clear.. Also, you can call me dumbass cause technically there is not point at all for doing donuts at ALL, but we were just having fun and we were doing it safely by only one person driving at a time.. You can call it driving on snow but its nothing like you could do in a Mustang but its a 4500 pound 230 horsepower truck..what do u expect haha. Ya the ABS light and the Brake Light came on, but now its a learning process to try to fix it myself....dont worry my parents wont just buy me a new truck or they wont fix it for me, i will figure it out and hopefully its just the ABS sensor or something simple.. I heard a lot of Dakotas have this problem.
And plus worst case scenario i wreck it while drifitng(sliding on snow) and hopefully if I am alive then and i have an excuse to buy a MUSTANG

drifting around in a huge empty parking lot covered in snow is a great way to learn how to drive in the snow.
Next time, dont rev the engine so high, you can keep it under 2k and still acomplish the same thing. |
