i use the media connect, its very easy to use. Thats how i played my music thru it. Or you can get the headphone style jack that has the double red/white audio connector at the end and plug your computer into your tv. Thats what i do with my ipod. You can get the cable at walmart for 6 bucks in the car audio section

That's what I used to do. I'm sure the RatShack sells them also. Depending on the receiver you have you might be able to link it via bluetooth.

its a white cable with a headphone jack at each end, and then a little attachment that splits it into 2 ports that plug into the tv.

You're not running true 5.1 surround sound off that cable. Notice how there's only a left and right channel. You can run it off all 6 speakers (5+sub), but it's not true surround sound.

Why pay $30 for a Monster cable when the RatShack has one for $6? Especially since iTunes and most music on the computer is a terribly compressed and has a terrible bit-rate. Then couple that with the crappy amplifiers on mp3 players (and some computers) and there's more noise introduced to the signal from the source then any crappy cable.

I just plug my cable into my headphone jack on my computer and play it on my iTunes... I don't have the Monster cable but I am a fan of Monster cables.

I bet there is an Xbox way to do this Tiller.

When I use Netflix, I boot it up on my laptop and then it process's through the Xbox. Lil J seet it up so Im not familiar with the details. It used my WiFi in my house somehow. My laptop was never connected physically (like with a cord of any kind) to the Xbox or TV.

What was on my laptop went to the TV.

yeah its easy to do with the xbox, just set up xbox media connect. But he can also just hook his laptop directly to the tv with that cable and listen to it that way.
