probably, i just didnt feel like looking for a link and didnt want someone to be like "NO YOU FUCKIN LIAR, IN 1994 THE CHRYLER K CAR WAS #1!!!".

But yeah, even still, i think the big 3 all had trucks in the top 10 the last couple years. Americans want big cars, its not an opinion, its a fact. We like em big, cause we can afford them.

Well, I know overall the Corolla is the best selling nameplate ever, and was the #1 seller in the world overall for many years. I do want to say that recently the F150 became #1 in the world, but the ~30 years is definitely an American thing.

It's definitely a double-edged sword. It costs us now, but it forces the technology to keep improving.
I believe competition between the autocompanies is enough to drive this technology.

Look at the computer industry. There's no processing regulations on CPUs but the competition drives the technology. No regulations needed. If you want to go on then you can look at nearly every industry and see the HUGE technology changes. They aren't driven by regulations. They're driven by competition.

I don't care what anyone says. Clinton was the first black president.

Both him and Obama can chow down on a wet, fruity bowl of shit for all I care. Al Gore should join 'em too. South Park's depiction of him is spot on.

There are some ideas floating around of how to revive the auto industry... one of which is to get dealers to junk trade-ins and never resell them. This would modernize the fleet on the roads... in theory. However, the idiots in suits fail to realize there are a whole hell of a lot of broke people out there driving beaters because they don't have the money to trade their vehicles in, even with a proposed incentive (to include tax breaks). It seems the dems don't exactly have a firm grasp of what real Americans do for a living, being that they mostly come from "privileged" families. The whole new vehicle plan would be wonderful if everyone was rich.

Slightly off-topic, I think EVERY politician out there should be required by law to serve in the military (enlisted no less) before running for office so they understand what it's like to live in bullshit. Maybe that would give them a better understanding of what it is they do to the people who's lives they directly govern and fuck every which way.
