Failed hard...

So I wanted to do a free mod...

Yeah great way to start right? I wanted to make that 32" rod sticking out my hood that we call an antenna a wee bit shorter... Needless to say I failed bad.

How in the fuck do you guys get the ball off? I couldn't even get it off of there. I had to repaint it with semi gloss paint because it was all scratched up so I can go to work here in about 30 minutes with an antenna on my car.

I tried taking the nail remover side of a hammer to get it off and it wouldn't budge. I also had it in a clamp on the workbench.

use fine saw through the base of the ball and then glue it back to the new height of the antenna? or you could use a pair of pliers to pull it off?

I tried a big ass pair of wire cutters too...

some people have done this the normally clamp the antenna and wrap a towel on the ball and pull it off. cut. and reinstall.

that's what I kinda thought could be done. Oh well I just got one from AM so I didn't struggle through that lol

I just used a knife and it seemed to work just fine for me

I used my grinder and just cut it down to size and then "rounded" off the end! Makes it look much better!

i pulled the antenna from the threaded base, cut the desired length from the bottom and then reinserted it into the base

That way seems like it will come off too easy

I knocked the ball off...cut...put ball back on
