What can you tell me good and bad about Chicago?

Just wondering who here lives in or around chicago? I about to accept a job doing ATC at O'hare. So I'll be moving there in a month or so. I've only ever driven through, and I could hold out for another job offer too. So tell me about the area, i know I'm going to be busting my ass in the tower, just wondering if it is worth it.

Chicago is an awesome place to live. i went there close to 20 times if not more just last year. ive already been there once this year. have you picked out a place to live yet? i say live in a suburb of chicago and commute, if you want to know some night spots i can def help you out there. like Rush st is an awesome place at night and during the day

Chicago dogs are the best. Period. Bun with seeds on it, wedge of tomato, relish, mustard, a pickle that go's the length of the bun and a "sport" pepper. Of couse, a real beef frank to go in it. That is a gift from the food Gods. Not to mention, Chicago style pizza.

Bears
White Sox
Bulls

Sears Tower

Fox Valley Motorcars

Excellent shopping, decent people (dispite recent Govenor Blagodick scandal). Great spring ,fall and summer weather. Oprah Winfrey.... you can say bad shit about her but she is great for the community.

Chicago is great. For a northern city, its ok. Better opportunities than detroit or Cleveland.

Look, anywhere you move, there are good and bad areas. Its what you make of it.

there is also a playboy penthouse on top of one of the tall buildings right on lake shore drive. you can see them having parties there all that time. well you just see lights everywhere

Great pizzas and Michigan avenue is bomb. I loved chicago when i went a few years back and will go back this summer if i get the chance.

You can have the traffic thank you very much. Lived there for two years. North West burb's. The bad weather traffic makes me never want to live in Chi-town again. They go 100+MPH when its sunny. Everyone does, but god forbid there is weather. Say your normal commute time on a good day is like 45minutes. If it rains, your looking at an hour and half. If it snows, easy 2 hours. God forbid there is ice or wind+snow.

Other than the traffic, Chicago is a really cool place to live. Anything you could want/need in a 3 hour radius from pretty much anywhere you live in Chicago. Cool night life . Cool people for the most part.

The nightlife is the shit in the summer! I can get you into alot of clubs for free if your into that...im getting to old for the club thing.

my buddy lives there and he hates it. his property taxes are almost $10 a year, gas, cigarettes and alcohol are among the highest in the nation and the gun laws insane. also the illegal alien situation is out of control. he's moving to st.louis as we speak

Move to the Tampa Bay area. It really is cool here. The economy isnt as bad here as it is in most northern places. Still sucks, but not as much.

Chicago’s fun but hey ive lived here my whole life. I would get the job at Ohare since its one of the busiest airports im guessing they pay a shitload.
