One thing I think a lot of people don't think about though is just how inexpensive the V6 Mustang is. I mean, MSRP for an '09 is $20k. What other cars can you get at that price that compete with it?

Ford doesn't have to change anything to compete. They know how to market the Mustang. More power to the V6 means more money. More money means it no longer appeals to the people it has always appealed to, High school kids. If you want to "compete" that's why they make the GT. If you want to really compete, you can spend as much as you want and Ford produces a Mustang to meet your needs.

That has worked in the past when the standard Mustang was cheaper. Now its not, so what are you going to buy? The 300 HP Camaro, for 22000 or the 200 HP Mustang for 22000? (assuming the Premium model) Oh, and the Camaro is dirfect injection, so it proably gets better gas miledge. Is it really going to cost that much more to put a motor in the Mustang that is already in production? Plus Ford still has their shit warranty, while Chevy covers their powertrains for 100,000 miles. People look at these things when they buy cars, if you need proof, look at all the Dodge Calibers on the road, they arent buying them for their build quality. Please also dont bother posting the fact that Ford doesnt need longer warranties because their products hold up longer, we all know thats not true........

M.S.R.P on the new Camaro is $22k. That doesn't mean it will sell for that. In fact, it means it will sell for more. I don't believe that you will be able to get a 2010 Camaro V6, for less then 24-25k.

Your probably right on that one. When I went to the dealer to buy the Mustang a few weeks ago, I asked if there were orders for the Camaro, and the sales guy told me they already have orders for quite a few.............

Supply and demand will keep the price higher for awhile....
