Canon rebel 350D (XT) or Nikon d40?

i would get the canon XT just because there are more variety of lenses that work with it. i think all canon lenses work with it dating back to like the early 80's? and nikon you have to get certain lenses, they are not all interchangeable

wow, umm might want to do a little readin before you post. Older nikon lenses do fit...only thing is that you will have to manual focus....same goes for cannon. Also, nikon has just as many lenses available for it.

biggest difference between any of the dslr cameras (in same class) comes down to body style and menu setup...pretty hard to say one is better than the other.

pentax dates back to 1975(fact) and with a easy to find m42 mount back to the 40's

now i have been spoiled by seeing the cheap prices, so its going to be even harder for me to find one.

When it comes to cameras, i'd either buy brand new or from somewhere that you can examine it before buying. Cameras can be very sensitive, and many people do abuse them.

I'm glad someone said it before me. I'm partial to Nikons but I wouldn't ever cry about having to own a Cannon.

400...man the circuit city over here had the d40 brand new for 375 without box the other day...if you want, i'll go over tomorrow and see if its still there.
