Help with a business discussion.

This is the discussion topic, but I also have to come up with a 2 minute speech over it. Any help would be appreciated.

Select a country that has not yet been reviewed by your colleagues and conduct an Internet search to discover some special, unique cultural differences in business etiquette and post your findings in a 200-225 word post by Wednesday evening. Be sure to name the country or culture on which you are reporting. Return to the discussion forum after Wednesday and review some of the contributions of your colleagues and respond to the post with some of the challenges that cultural difference might pose for the US business professional or entrepreneur. Complete two or more posts by Midnight Sunday February 15th. Let's see who finds the culture that deems it disrespectful for men to sit in such a way that the soles of their shoes show!

Most Southeast asian countries it is common practice in business to exchange gifts fairly often. Had a professor who visited China, I think, and brought an extra suitcase full of gifts to exchange with his business partners he was meeting.

I would do Qatar. If im correct any araibic country it is disrepectfull to show your soles. It repesents that you are above them and can step over them at any time?

Qatar is a very rich country but they do have problems with basically that they are so rich no one wants to do any "work" and now they are starting to see economic problems.

Hong Kong has very interested Business politics... You could also cover the business practice changes when it went from being part of the UK to China in 95 or 96 ( i think )...

Your right... I knew it was sometime around that era. I moved out of China in 95 and knew it was shortly there after.
