quick new edge question
I test drove my first New edge today.. an 04 GT .. with 50K on it, really nice on the outside, completely stock with some chrome wheels, black on black,
now, i actually had an 97 V6 and believe it or not, that pulled quicker and more loose than this 04 GT. both were AUTO, the 04 GT felt REALLY REALLY stiff when trying to even give it a decent amount of gas.. like it was hardly going anywhere. MY V6 felt WAY better (BEFORE my 3.73s) compared to this 04. So my question is, can anyone that owns a new edge vouch for what im saying about them, or is it something to stay away from. also funny story about this car too, a dealer is selling it and on the autotrader it listed it as a MACH 1 stick shift... and i told them OVER the phone that it was GT AUTOMATIC.... 8 hours later from when i called and went to see it, they still hadnt changed the make nor the transmission information. KBB said it was $12,000 for the car.. i wont give more than 8K... the sales man wants 14K+ and said to him when I showed him on the internet the KBB value that KBB doesnt sell cars... and that they are wrong and that THEM (The dealer) bought the car for like 14K. I was gonna say to his face... man you got ripped off then ! lol

^ good point there.
an 04 GT should be like night and day from a 97 6er.. I drove a 98 6er for my first mustang and even when I bought my 01 v6 I thought is was a nice jump in HP until I picked up my GT... all were 5 speeds however. The GT should be way more powerful then your v6. There is something wrong with the GT then.

i don't really get what you're saying.. are you sure it was a GT? cause the amount of difference from a new edge gt to a sn95 v6 is tremendous. what do you mean by stiff? i guess i don't really get it.

its not a big diff dude, the only time it even makes a difference is when you actually break the tires loose which wouldnt even happen often in a stock gt, and when it happens the car like stutters and the traction control light flashes on the dash

VIN number w/ carfax said it was a GT. the Engine looked like a GT engine.
BOB, what I mean stiff is when you push down on the GAS pedal, it is stiff, it takes more foot power on the gas for the car to accelerate at all decently.. like i was at 40mph.. and was like trying to floor the bitch but still it was going slow through the increasing of the mph's.

it has issues then.. lol did you make it past 3k? that's when the power kicks in. It isn't apush rod like your 6er is.

yea i will go test one that is very close to that dealership before going back to take another peak at it. i think that one will be an 01 with 78K miles on it.. i tell you.. if that feels better than the 04, then im def not considering the black one anymore.. i dont think they really changed between those 2 years
