Summit apparently got into a scuffle with Greg Weld Motorsports and decided to drop their product line.

Anyway. They're blowing out their inventory and the Dragstars are $99 each!!!

They're more of a street wheel. I have heard that they bend under high powered cars while launching. It's because they're made thinner than the Weld Racing Wheels. I believe that it's just Greg Weld Motorsoprts that is going under, not Weld Racing. I'm not yet sure on that though.

Weld Racing has already been under for a bit now...Greg Weld is going under now too...The name might be picked up again sometime...Or they might sell the name to Summit from what I have heard...

I know what Chapter 11 is, and it's not uncommon for companies to file for the sake of corporate restructuring, or to handle personal matters. I personally know quite a bit about it, because my father had to do it during his divorce so that my mother would get less money. Basically you tank the business on paper to either buy out whoever it is that you need to.

Yeah they did it and then put the company up for sale...Not sure if anyone bought it...Then Greg Weld started and now its going under too...

The company will probably be bought out by a another firm owned, or started by Weld. You see the same thing with developers all of the time. It's a common practice...

Greg Weld is the company Greg Weld started after leaving Weld Wheels. It has no affiliation to Weld Wheels. Greg passed away a few months ago, and now Greg Weld Wheels is going out of business. They barely even got going. Weld Wheels has passed hands a couple of times since Greg left, and was at one time owned by American Racing. It has recently been bought and is now an independent company with no affiliations to any other wheel companies.

Weld Wheels is owned by Kyle Fickler
