GF Issues

Man, at 19 years old, I was dating this girl I had been with at age 17. I gave up on my career goals, changed what i was majoring in in college, and set my life aside for her. She ended up cheating on me, and I had to go back into what I had always wanted to do in the first place. It took me about an extra year in school to get back to where I should have been in the first place. My advice, do your thing. If it's meant to be, it will be. But don't set aside your career goals and life goals because of some girl you are with at 19 years old. It's not worth it.

Every relationship is different. Long distance relationships can be difficult, but from WI to Dominican? How did you meet her, and how do you manage that? My long distances have been within a 4 hour drive or so. And it is just a distance factor, not time, as I see her almost every week.

Me and my ex recently split a few months ago. We dated for five years. From my freshman year until now. I loved her, and still do love her, think about her constantly, but I know that I had to leave her alone. I was one of those guys who thought she would never cheat, church girl, doesn't go out, nothing. But low and behold when she graduated she was seeing another guy behind my back. It is one of the worst things you can go through bro, do yourself a favor and don't become to involved.

That is very true. And while every relationship is different, the fact remains that the majority of the time I hear a friend's woman say something along the lines of "You've changed" or "I want a break", that the girl is, if not in fact actually cheating, at least interested in another guy.

Yeah, I can see this for most relationships. If she is comparing you to someone else or some ideal that she sees as being better, be it you in the past or some new guy, she is dissatisfied and is probably opening her eyes and legs. Your idea has merit in my book.

Yeah. At the very least, it's not something that we should ever say "My girl would never do that!" to.

Because without fail, if you think that, that's when it happens. Because your eyes aren't open to reality.

I certainly don't mean one should go around being paranoid, or ridiculously jealous, or thinking that every time there is a problem it's because she may be cheating,. I'm just saying it's not something that one should keep their eyes closed to.

I've seen too many friends hurt over the last 20+ years from doing just that.

but i am 99.9% sure she hasnt even touched a guy. her family would litteraly disown her if she did.
Her mother is very hardcore and same with her sisters. so im sure on that point.
idk what will happen yet.. time will tell

we met through friends and i visited her after going to school in germany for a bit. im just to picky with my girls. plus all the ones in my area just suck.. i hate them.

Well, it is drastic to hate women in your area as a stereotype. Perhaps you wouldn't prefer being romantically involved with them, but hate? I am not turned on by other women, but I do not hate them. I am cordial and friendly to my girl's friends and my friend's girlfriends. I do not have any friends of my own that are girls, but I do not desire that either.

I dont like the girls in my area. lol. im a very picky guy saddly but i know what I would like in my girl.

Beware, sometimes, mlb, that quite often people who live in extremely strict environments are more prone to cheat than those who live in an open, caring type of household.

Why? It's the thrill of doing it, knowing what will happen if you get caught, that makes it more exciting for them. Basically the same reason so many married people cheat, and why so many people conduct work place affairs.

However, at this point it sounds like I'm trying to force you to think she's cheating, or that I'm saying for sure this is what's happening. I'm not.

I'm just saying this stuff so that you consider all possibilities and do not brush them off out of blind love, so that you don't get blindsided.
