I have all mine on separate computers. All my apple computers run both Mac and Windows Vista though.
But on my desk I keep it simple...Apple Laptop = Mac/Windows, PC = Windows, PS3 = Linux

I finally got it to close by running cmd as an administrator then doing taskkill /im itunes.exe

Sounds like you have another problem.... I've been running it on 3 laptops and a server for a year, and it works fine.
