Kitty nuts

Hey, Kryptonites gets his nuts chopped on March 9th. Doctor said dont feed him for 12 hours prior to that morning.

I've never been through this ( well, Ive never had a cat thats been through this) and is there anything I should be concerned with post or pre operation with him???

Poor dude. but it needs done to help keep him from spraying. He doesnt do it now and the Doc said it may keep him from doing it. Plus, I dont need him getting cats in the neighborhood pregnant...even though he never gos outside, he might try to sneak out er something.

That's good thinking. Both of our dude dogs have been neutered. They moped around a bit for a few days afterward but perked right up. We just had our girl maltese spayed last thursday finally.

Again, just make sure to keep his cone on, don't want him licking and breaking open his stitches.

Seriously, only reason really is to cut down on the chances of him spraying. His nuts are like inverted anyway. They hang up^. My cat is odd.

Oh shit. The cone is that thing that go's over their head like in the "failed" poster. How long do they keep it on?

I dont know alot about cats but Docv said he "pisses" on stuff to mark his turf. He doesnt do it yet and cutting the nuts may keep him from ever doing it.

really just until it's healed, we kept theirs on for about a week.

Be prepared to laugh a lot. I know it seems horrible, but you won't be able to help yourself from laughing when he spills his food from the bowl. I don't know if you have kitty treats, but we gave our golden retriever a dog biscuit and he dropped it into his cone and it was the funniest thing watching him try to get it out.

Again, IDK except it just feels good to give the final "go ahead" to cutting somethings nuts off. I suppose its a power thing or a control thing. Its like playing God for a minute.

I love that look on their face the first time they go to lick their nuts and realize they aren't there....it's like...

"Uhhh...wait a second. I know I had them this morning...then I went for that fun ride in the car...OH....then that man came in with the white coat....and.....dammit! He must of stole them!!!"

that was directed at kitty. They may not want to eat or drink afterwards as well, if they don't eat or drink anything after a day, call the vet.
