I did a full detail of my car over the weekend and it took over 6 hours. And it's already getting pollen on it that I have to clean off every day after school

Man if I told someone $115 for a FULL detail they'd run off...

I claybarred, polished, waxed, and compeltely detailed the interior of my step grandmothers Nissan Altima for only $65.

Exactly. I know how to detail a car (worked at a full service car wash for over a year) but I could never got someone to pay that much for it.

$115 is not out of the ordinary for a full detail. I do it for a few people around the office for $100. I think its fun to show people what their car can look like when its actually taken care of properly ( plus I get to drive around in their car for the day and they have some pretty sweet rides ).

People who actually KNOW what goes into a full detail job are willing to pay that...some pay more.

I got $250 to do a friend's Merc when I was in High School.

You would be surprised what people would pay for paint correction.

Haha, it was 85 here yesterday.

That's where people get confused. Hand cleaning and polishing a car is NOT detailing it. I am talking paint correction. The car above was not paint corrected and it was still $115. All that above was a wash, single step polish, seal, and the interior cleaned. My works speaks for itself, and just like everything else in life, you get what you pay for.

Once again, working at a car wash is NOT detailing. Come talk to me when you do a paint correction. If I would have done a FULL detail on that car, it would have been $300+.

Haha, well the VW isn't anything like that

A mixture, but mostly I use a Mikata rotary and a PC with various pads and Menzerna and Adams polishes, sealants, ect.

The above I used Dodo Juice Blue Velvet for the final wax.

No, I didn't put the information I should have in that post. I worked as a detailer AT a car wash, haha. Should have clarified.

I understand that, but your idea of detailing and my idea is not the same thing. I consider a detail almost a 2 day job of paint correction, ie. minor scratches removed or blended, no swirls what so ever, full sealant, ect. Once you do a full detail, you will understand why it is so expensive.
