got an iphone.. how to unlock?

my friend works at a gym and she found an iphone there.. she said that if nobody claims stuff within a month the person who found it gets to keep it.. so yesterday it had been a month since she found it and she gave it to me. the phone is locked and disabled.. i have to enter a passcode to get it to work.. does anyone know how i can reset the phone/get a passcode? its a nice phone, 8 gb and it looks almost new. sucks to whoever lost it but i think it would be cool to get it working and at least have it as an ipod. is there a way to get verizon to work with it?

trade u a ipod touch for it depending on 2g or 3g

The short answer is no, verizon and at&t use different technologies to make calls/3g/texts .. that being said, I am unsure if the other protocols are built into the iphone, but you'd have to unlock the phones hardware which can be a pain in the ass

But as for unlocking it and using it, I've got no idea. You might have to have a plan to use the apps and such.

Im not 100% on that I dont think so but not sure, like I said I'll trade you a Itouch for it 16gig but if its a 2g I'll need some boot your call lemme know

lol its exactly like the iphone except no phone its just a ipod but it has the touchscreen

Yes you can unlock the iPhone and simply use it as an iPod if you'd like. Tell me if it is a 1st gen iPhone or if it is a 3G. Lemme know that then I can proceed to help you.
