Prayer for a friend

Please keep my good friend Eric in your thoughts and prayers.

He is 31 and had a full hip replacement surgery done today.

Wow, I hope he is ok! If you don't mind me asking, why did he have to get a full hip replacement at 31?

i don't know the specifics, but he had a blood vessel collapse in his hip.

I don't see the problem.

He's fixing it now so he won't have to later.

In car talk.....he's forging the bottom end BEFORE it goes, not after. Sounds like he's prepared for old age.

But I hope it all goes well for him.

I can tell you 1st hand that is one tough recovery! But he is 31 and will rebound faster than I did. Plus men have more muscle and I think rebound much faster. More and more younger people are having joint replacement. But you pretty much have to learn how to walk, sit, all over again. You cannot cross your legs for like 6 weeks or longer. You cannot bend much at first..so forget about tying your shoes-no freaking way.You have to be careful not to pop out that implant...so lots of cautions during the healing process. He won't be driving for at least 4 weeks. God it took me 5 weeks before I could bend enough to get in my car and drive. It hurts...alot. But it hurt very badly before...so he will feel better soon.

Lots of physical therapy..I hope he can go to an inpatient rehab facility if he no one to take care of him 24/7 for a while.

He's in my prayers Man...it's a tough one. So take care of him he'll need help.

Tell him I say Hey...it sucks BUT that pain will go away.

Yeah it's scary..they freakin' amputate the joint and hammer an 8" steel rod in the femur bone...that hurts a long time.

he'll definitely be in my prayers too man, my hip kills me a lot, and i'm only twenty! =( hopefully i wont have to have hip surgery i cant afford it with all my medical classes. it feels like a knife is being stabbed into my hip everytime i get up or set down

i have had mad knees since i was 10. sucks bad.

he is doing good. i am going to go up and see him tomorrow after i smoke a cigar with cricket.

but he is scheduled to go home on friday.

Seriously?? Man go get it checked out by an orthopaedic they'll take an xray and you can see for yourself. Maybe not that serious, you are soooo young. At least gets some anti inflamatories after you're checked out.
