5.0 Inside info...
FYI -
As of right now, the 5.0 is rated around 340hp for the 2011 Mustang GT. If things change, I'll let you know. The 5.0 is still on schedule for Feb.2010. Ford almost scrapped the project due to the new regulations. If all goes well, a new DI 5.0 will follow. A new SE is coming. Hints say a Mach1 or Boss. I'll have more details later. There is even a chance it will be released prior to the new 5.0, so if that happens it will either be a 4.6 or 5.4. Right now, it appears it will be in the 350-400hp range. GRWD project is dead. The next generation Mustang will be on the same platform. Highly doubt you'll see IRS. Thats all for now.

A Mach 1 with a N/A 5.4L and TR6060 would be SICK. Isnt the BOSS a trademarked name that cant be used again? Eitherway, BOSS 302 would be great if it was a true BOSS 302. More engine options is great and all, but I want some style changes made to the 2010 'stang before I'd ever consider a new one.
Still a 5.0 at 340 HP is clearly a conservative number, some minor "bolt ons" and it'd make some good power, although i'm sure a N/A 5.4L would be SICK too. Kinda makes me want a GT500 and remove that Supercharger and do some sick ass cams

And I doubt there would be a new Boss - I thought that the rights to that name were Shinoda's, not Ford's - but a new Mach 1 would make sense.

I will continue to dream of my N/A 5.4L with TR6060... hell I may find a way to get a hold of a GT500 5.4L and TR6060 and drop it in my 09 for GRINS. Although that supercharger would promptly GTFO my car

i like the idea of the 5.4 N/A mach, tr6060 would be a bonus and logical for fuel economy. Now MSRP on something like that would prob be starting in the low 30s, plus options... could get expensive. But sounds awesome!
Id like to see some renderings of what it could look like.

It might be a mach 1 and I would hope that the 5.0 could muster more than 340hp. I was hoping for the 400 hp mark.

Why are you still on these forums?
It's modded MUSTANGS not modded "I hate everything Mustangs" Seriously, dont even compare the car to the Camaro, LS1 or not.I heard 400 HP for the 5.0 going in the F150 and more for the Mustang, but that was a relativly old thread. As to what a Mach1 would look like? Look at GTPONY1's car, fairly close to that if they wanted to be trueish to the original. When money permits my plans are to "recreate" the Mach1 on an S197 ![]() A N/A GT500 would be good for those of us who hate the sound of FI cars (me, and probably only me) I'd rather have a N/A beast than a beast that sounds like the GF you never wanted. So much speculation, not enough info. DarkCandy can you go sleep with the CEO some more and get us some hard facts?
